Back On A Schedule

Some of you may have noticed that my blogging rate has been decreasing over the past 3 or 4 months. I’m trying to get back on blogging with at least 3 to 4 posts per week. I want to expand my topics from tech and my life to perhaps my views on various topics. My goal also includes increasing the length of my posts. To do this, I might have to probably pre-write a few posts and store them (:P). So I’ll probably schedule posts and let Wordpress post them automatically.

You also may have noticed I tweaked the width of the content and sidebar so that the sidebar is slightly narrower and the content column is wider. This should be handy when I start increasing the length of my posts. I’m also starting to organize my categories.

Keep checking back!

Rumsfeld Resignation

November 7th was election day, the day the GOP lost big time. They’ve lost both the House and the Senate.
Following the big victory of the Democrats, Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, resigns the next day with Robert Gates replacing him.

I have a perfect illustration for this.

Google+Youtube=GooTube

Yes. Enuff’ said. It’s official, Google has acquired YouTube. Check out the official press release.
I knew this day would come. It didn’t cost Google a cent though as it was a “stock-for-stock” acquisition. It’s funny, I was talking to Shane and he brought up that in the latest TWiT, they were talking about how it was a rumor and such. Dvorak,(who is always right  ) even mentioned how it will never happen.

Who Owns the Moon?

Letters to George W. Bush from German citizens attempting to affirm their rights to moon land they have purchased for $19.99 an acre. “Dear Mr. Bush: I read an article about the plans of the U.S. government to build a space station on the moon. For me this is more than just an ordinary news, because I am the owner of a part of the moon’s surface.”

In fact, according to International Laws, no one owns the moon, yet. Just like Antarctica, it is used for scientific studying purposes. This is actually getting pretty interesting.

MyBulletinBoard Version 1.2 Released

Yes MyBB 1.2 is released. Those who haven’t seen it should go check it out. It’s FREE.

The new version features tons of new features like cleaner code, AJAX edit, custom moderation tools, reputation system like EBay, multiquote, search improvement, plugin hooks in ACP, custom BBCodes, data handlers for extra security, and just tons more.

I’ve had no problems with it so far. It’s by far the best free forum software out there in my opinion.

In addition, I haven’t gotten any chance to work on the new site :( . There’s just too much school work. I will take a look again and reschedule my calendar. I really would like to have a new customized theme by the end of September.

Out of school

Hey people. Sorry about the lack of updates, I’ve been extremely busy.

I’m out of school this week on 6/13 and flying to Taiwan the same night.
I’m right now packing up some stuff and getting ready. There are lots of stuff I need to get done before I leave like coding a few layouts and upgrading the forums and Wordpress.

As myBB 1.2 is coming, I’m getting ready to totally recode the hosting mod on Retect into a plugin. With the new release coming, the hosting mod will not work due to lots of core changes. Redoing it is better than patching it all the time. Making it a plugin will really help future releases and new features.

The great news is that I got to try out the new Ubuntu Drapper 6.06. It runs alot faster comparing to the Breezy Badger LiveCD. I really love how you can install from the LiveCD. This means you only need to download one iso to install and try out the system.

I’ve also gotten the chance to try out Xubuntu. I’m running only on 256MBs of RAM with my onboard VGA taking some RAM. Xubuntu, which uses the xfce desktop, is as fast as Windows XP running on my computer even when it is running on CD. I am really thinking about slicing some of my backup partition for Xubuntu. I’ll see about it.

I’m going to Great America tomorrow with my school. It’s a pretty big amusement park if you guys don’t know what it is. I should have tons of fun wit that. It’s just really great to get out of school.
Have a great summer, see ya later.
